Foreign Minister's competition for best publications promoting history of Poland and history of Polish diplomacy

The Minister of Foreign Affairs has announced a competition for the best foreign language publication promoting the history of Poland and the best Polish language publication on the history of Polish diplomacy, published between 2015 and 2016. Historians may submit their works until September 15, 2017.

The competition is open to historical monographs, popular history publications and source editions. The winner of the contest in the category of best foreign language publication promoting the history of Poland will be awarded a cash prize of 10,000 EUR and the winner in the category of the best publication in the history of Polish diplomacy will receive 20,000 PLN.

Prizes will be awarded by the Minister of Foreign Affairs at the recommendation of the Council for Historical Diplomacy.

 

How to submit your publication:

The main criterion when checking the works will be the substantive value of the publications from the point of view of Polish foreign policy.

The condition of participation in the competition is submission of works by September 15, 2017 (date of receipt of the publication by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs).

Works for the contest should be submitted in the form of 3 copies of the publication, including (if possible) published reviews.

This year's edition of the competition covers only works published between 2015 and 2016.

These should be sent along with the words "The Foreign Minister’s History Contest” on the envelope or filed in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Service Diary, 21 J. Ch. Szucha Avenue, entrance from Litewska Street, 8.15am-4.15pm from Monday to Friday.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will not return copies of publications submitted for the competition.
